I have always cultivated a strong passion for software development and design, an activity I often practice even in my free time. Thus, pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering and completing a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering at the University of Pisa felt like a natural choice. For my thesis, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the CNR in Pisa, where I developed a particular interest in the field of Computer Vision.

Beyond my academic journey, I am passionate about wildlife photography. This interest links closely to my fascination with images and their digital representation. Photography allows me to explore the natural world through the lens, while my work in Computer Vision enables me to understand how these images are represented and to learn about the algorithms used to process them. Additionally, I have independently developed several Computer Vision projects to delve deeper into the subject, enhance my skills, and understand how to apply them in real-life scenarios.

I follow technological advancements passionately and consistently, staying updated on emerging technologies in AI, newly released papers, and the latest developments in the field. This approach allows me to combine my visual creativity with my technical expertise, enriching both fields of experience.

Why do I work at Helaglobe?

I firmly believe in the potential of emerging technologies to enhance people’s quality of life and create positive impacts in the medical field. I also think that integrating artificial intelligence into this sector can provide opportunities to transform the ways in which diseases are diagnosed, prevented, and treated. Finally, I am motivated by knowing that my work can make a difference in the daily well-being of many individuals.

Inspirational figures:

Andrew Zisserman, professor at the University of Oxford, who is regarded by many as one of the founding figures in computer vision. His innovations range from methods for 3D reconstruction to image representation models and object recognition. These advanced techniques, described in his book Multiple View Geometry in Computer Vision, are fundamental not only for computer vision but also for digital photography. They have made higher-quality photos possible through automatic correction, contrast enhancement, and object detection, impacting photo editing and retouching.

My professional aspirations:

To grow and make a meaningful contribution within the tech sector, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. I aim to use my skills in AI and computer vision to develop innovative solutions that can enhance business processes and positively impact people’s lives. Additionally, I want to continue evolving as a professional, staying up-to-date on the latest trends and emerging technologies to deliver the highest value in my role.    

My personal aspirations:

To travel as much as possible, documenting wildlife through my photography around the world. Another of my goals is to hold personal exhibitions where I can share my vision of beauty in nature with others. Finally, I would like to pass on my passion and knowledge by organizing courses for those who wish to delve into this wonderful world, helping others discover the art of wildlife photography.
