We believe that Patient Engagement is essential for an effective health system. For this reason, we are committed to promoting the active participation of patients in their care path, encouraging an empowerment that makes them protagonists of their own health.
Patient Engagement means more than just representing the needs of patients or engaging Patient Associations in lasting relationships. We identify with Kristin L. Carman’s framework, and by engagement we mean an active partnership between patients, families, health care providers, and companies on various levels.
Healthcare Patient Engagement is not just advocacy for patient rights but a belief, based on extensive scientific literature, that the active involvement of the person in his or her care journey in the health technology assessment, in the definition of organizational models, and in the indication of guiding principles and regulations on health issues, generates more positive spillovers for everyone involved.
Our work is guided by the real needs of people with disease. We firmly believe that active patient participation in managing their own health can activate a virtuous circle for the benefit of the community.
By working closely with the vast network of Patient Associations and Federations in the “Insieme Per” project, we have the opportunity to develop projects based on the tangible and real needs of people living with a disease.
Our decades of experience in direct contact with patients, alongside associations allows us to understand what triggers the activation and sustained engagement of the person as the protagonist of his or her own care journey.
Patient engagement definition and empowerment have become imperative to the success of any healthcare marketing strategy.
In the past, pharma marketing was mainly aimed at physicians. Today, it is critical to engage patients directly as well. It is not simply a matter of providing information, but rather of developing engagement strategies that affect the individual’s behavior by promoting an evolution toward an active condition.
A more “active” patient is more likely to:
This, in turn, leads to earlier diagnosis, better treatment outcomes, reduced healthcare costs and increased patient satisfaction.

Find out moreThe first serious game made to enable people with multiple sclerosis to engage in the adapted physical activity they need for their well-being, with physician monitoring of their progress in time.
The game was developed as a PSP together with Roche, with the collaboration of twelve Italian neurological centers and the Fondazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla (FISM).
We supported the Italian Association “Anderson-Fabry” and the Italian Association “Gaucher” in their dialogue with the Emilia-Romagna region to make sure that people with lysosomal storage diseases could receive infusion of life-saving enzyme replacement therapy at home.
The project is dedicated to more than 70 Patient Organizations coming together for healthcare and to discuss in an ongoing process that fosters growth, strategic alliance building and a holistic approach of the association world, regardless of the individual disease.
We opened a discussion table on the needs of people with multiple myeloma between patient organizations (AIL Nazionale, La Lampada di Aladino ETS and Fondazione Quattropani) and professionals experienced in the treatment of the disease to identify concrete solutions to make patients more informed and effective in managing the disease.
